Quarantine-Friendly Organizing Tips
Stuck in the house during social distancing with no idea what to do? Consider taking on the challenge of organizing your home. Today we’re sharing our top five tips for organizing your home during quarantine. Let’s get started.
1. Divide and Conquer
During this weird time in our lives, we have more time than ever to accomplish things we never thought we could. Especially chores around the house. That being said, the first quarantine-friendly tip we have is to divide and conquer.
Start by making a list of the things you really want to accomplish and then work at it one by one. You don’t have to do everything at once, by all means, take your time. Work on one side of the house at a time.
2. Closets, Drawers, & Pantries
One thing we’ve noticed during this quarantine is that everyone seems to be deep cleaning their closets, drawers, and even their pantries. This is a good time to really get into those spaces and organize them to the best of your ability.
It’s also a good time to donate things you don’t need or use to others who may be in need. This is a stressful time for everyone so if you’ve got old pots and pans stored in the closet you don’t use – give them to someone who will use them.
3. Get with Marie
Does that dress in your closet you’ve only worn once spark joy? No? Toss it. Our third quarantine-friendly organizing tip is to study Marie Kondo’s method of organizing (if you haven’t already) and do life like Marie.
Marie’s method of organizing consists of removing things in your household that do not spark joy. These could be things you haven’t used in a long time or things that just aren’t doing it for you anymore. And we think now is a perfect time to get on board and start organizing your house the right way.
4. Create a Weekly Cleaning List
Things can get pretty boring during quarantine. So we suggest making a weekly cleaning list so that you’ll have something to do each day of the week. And instead of compiling a list of things that take five to ten minutes, use this as an opportunity to deep clean.
Create a weekly cleaning list of household chores that take some time to accomplish. Maybe for you, this looks like cleaning out the garage or raking up the leaves in the backyard. Make sure they are tasks that will keep you busy and distracted.
5. Rearrange Your Space
The last of our quarantine-friendly organizing tips consists of rearranging your space for a fresh new vibe. Being stuck inside can get pretty depressing for some, so to spice things up a bit (and maybe improve your homes Fung Shui) we suggest moving things around.
Consider moving your bed to the other side of the room or repositioning your living room. This will help pass the time and get your home organized just the way you want it.
