8 Areas In Your Home That Need Attention During The Fall
How to get your home ready for the fall
The first area in your home that needs attention during the fall is underneath household surfaces. More specifically, underneath your countertops and tables. Often overlooked, this area of your home can get pretty dirty if you don’t keep up on it.
Another area in your home you’ll want to pay attention to during the fall is the inside of all your drawers. This is a household chore that involves taking your time and being very organized. Working by room, empty out all our drawers and clean them from the inside out using a multi-surface cleaner.
Though you should clean out your appliances on a regular basis, it’s best to give them a good deep clean at the start of each season. Since it’s the start of fall, it’s a good time to go through and clean out all your small appliances and organize them by use.
You probably don’t even remember the last time you clean the vents and coils on your refrigerator. This is something that should be done at least once a year and fall is a good time to do it. These areas can accumulate dust which can cause inefficient cooling and an increase in electricity usage. Go through and wipe them down ensuring their dust-free and then check the filter to see if it needs to be replaced.
Remember how we talked about cleaning inside all the drawers in the house? You’ll want to do the same thing with all of your cabinets. This creates an opportunity for you to get more organized and it allows you to get rid of extra things you don’t need while you’re at it.
7. Inside the dishwasher
Cleaning the inside of your dishwasher should be on your monthly cleaning checklist, but in case it’s not, add it to your fall cleaning list. Run a cup of vinegar through your dishwasher and then wipe down the inside lip using a multi-surface solution.
