Maid Services give quick fixes for cleaning nightmares
Maid services know everyone has to deal with typical day to day cleaning tasks, but on occasion there are bigger jobs that can seem to be on the difficult side. From Glitter disasters, to those pesky marks on your wood floor these simple solutions will help you conquer even the biggest cleaning catastrophe.
Remove stuck on gunk from window tracks- Maid services sometimes use this trick, put a little bit of baking soda onto the dirty surface. Add a small amount of vinegar and it should begin to bubble. Use a Q-tip with a little warm water to finish cleaning the tracks.
Remove marker from hard wood– If your child makes a mark with pen on your hardwood it is a surprisingly simple fix. White toothpaste on a clean rag mixed with some elbow grease will most likely remove the stain. Professional cleaners may be able to provide alternative supplies for this job.
Remove hard water spots from shower heads– The shower head can get covered in nasty hard water deposits fairly quickly. It is important to clean your shower head on a rotational basis. Most maid services make this a regular part of their routine. A simple trick to clean it is to put it in a plastic bag with distilled white vinegar and cover it using a rubber band. After about an hour use a wet cloth to wipe the shower head and you will find the hard water deposits will have faded.
How to clean up glitter – Glitter is a favorite when it comes to crafting but once it has spilled on a the floor, whether it is hardwood or carpet, it can be hard to get rid of. First wipe the carpet with a rubber glove to pull up the excess and break it loose. Use your vacuum’s crevice attachment to remove the glitter. If you do not have a crevice attachment a lint roller works as a great alternative. These tricks with have the glitter gone in no time. Make sure to clean your vacuum after doing this task to prevent the glitter from spreading.
Cleaning wooden cutting boards – Wooden cutting boards can start to absorb the smells of food that you prepare on them. Cleaning your cutting board is very simple. Rub half a lemon over the board. After that put kosher salt on the board and let it stay there for about 15 to 20 minutes. After the salt has set use the other half of the lemon to clean the board.
I’ve been using Green Frog for quite awhile now, and I find their techs to be careful and thorough. The office communicates well, letting me know if there are any changes to schedule or personnel, and they do their best to keep the same tech on my account from week to week. That way the tech gets to know my house and my preferences. I’m now working with Katelynn who is doing a great job. The family looks forward to “clean sheet night” every Wednesday, and I’m glad to be able to offload my least favorite chores (cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen).
