3 Ways to Stop the Spread of Germs in Your Home
Whether or not someone in your home is sick preventing the spread of germs is crucial in today’s world. In order to keep yourself and your family safe, there are a few things you can do to keep a (mostly) germ-free home.
Here are three ways you can help stop the spread of germs inside your home:
1. Wash your hands
We know you’ve heard it time and time again, but washing your hands really is the number one way to stop the spread of germs. Wash your hands as often as possible for at least 20 seconds using lukewarm water and mild soap.
CDC handwashing recommendations
2. Disinfect surfaces using an EPA registered disinfectant
EPA disinfectants are effective for cleaning a broad range of germs including common household bacteria and viruses as well as the current coronavirus. What you want to do is strategically disinfect the surfaces in your home for the recommend time outlined on the product label.
CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting
3. Create new habits
Without knowing it, sometimes we create bad habits that can cause us more harm than good. Habits such as sharing food, hanging around people that are sick, and not having a regular cleaning routine aren’t good. They can all cause the spread of germs.
